Being an Artist
From the time I was a child, I wanted to be an artist. I always felt more of a kinship with television, books, and art than I did with other people. Most of the time, I felt awkward in groups or in one on one conversations. I felt like I was trying to fit in, trying to be like others, dress like others, or wanting popularity.
The truth was, I was truly myself around one or two people in my life. The remainder of the time, it was all an act.
The artist was only art. The artist was never a real person. The artist was lost.
