The Times in Life I Regret

In my life, I have had lots of opportunities to do good. To be the guy that does good things and brings joy to others. Still, I found myself failing in many of those tasks. My downfall? My drinking.

Is that easy to admit? Well, that's complicated. When I was drinking, yes. When you are in the midst of any type of addiction, you do your best to act like you are not addicted, you are in complete control, and everyone is overreacting.

After I stopped drinking (four years ago this next month!) I turned to look at the life that I had left in my wake. I had ruined some friendships, lost opportunities, and really left myself in a pickle.

Some people were left intact, others were gone in the breeze, and I had wasted time. Wasted time.

We don't get do-overs and addicts often find that aspect of life sad; no one really wants you around. Why? You ruin every gathering. You get loud, obnoxious, and rude...

Regrets? Many, and even worse? Many more that I don't even remember.

Apologies pale. So, you push forward and hope that people will judge you as the person that yuo are now.

I finally stopped for me. So, if you are an addict or former addict. Just know that you have to move forward. They will either move forward with you or continue to stay away. You can't change them, but you can only control you.
