Morality and our obligation I seek peace in my life and in my heart. But do

I seek peace in my life and in my heart. But do I cower in the face of danger? No, I walk away.

Now, if my family is in danger, what is my obligation? Again, I do not cower, but this time I do not walk away.

Peace can only be kept by the courageous; to seek war & battle for personal gains is beheld as honorable by the weak minds of the world and cowards that do not set foot on a battle field.

Humans that yell for war would not fight it or allow their children to die in it-- at any cost.

The Days Ahead Are Shadows of the Days Behind The few days ahead of me are

The few days ahead of me are but a drop in comparison to the many decades passed. I have observed that I can only be as happy today, and with my tomorrows, as I allow myself. That means not being hindered by past failures and sadness.

We transcend these things through our willingness to allow for new experiences and forgiving ourselves for what we didn't get right.

Live free with the time that you have.

People can change you, if you let them What are the things that you love to

What are the things that you love to do? Why?

They are your choices, the things that you love, and the things that bring you joy!

So, if someone comes into your life and they want to steal your joy, why would you let them?

If you have to remove the joy from your life or the person trying to take your joy, keep your joy!!

The Harsh Reality Is there anything more harsh than realizing the wrongs we

Is there anything more harsh than realizing the wrongs we have, purposely or accidentally, inflicted on others over the course of our lives? I have been cruel, thoughtless, and rude in my life. Those are facts. But does that make us who we are? No.

A person is not defined by a single action or thought; rather, an individual should be defined by the body of their works and deeds. There are people lost in the world because they have judged themselves as not worthy for something done. Seek them...

Well, movie fans and superstitious peeps, do you do anything special for this day? Made popular by the 1980 movie, of the same name, this date historically has religous, mythological, and of course pop culture perspectives that have made it popular for horror fans around the world.

As a creator, I enjoy dates like this. It allows for entertaining opportunities. People want to have a reason to shiver in the dark or just be scared anywhere. So, try to stay safe today...

Emotional Intelligence Age and the ability to answer academic quesitons is

Age and the ability to answer academic quesitons is not the sign of emotional intelligence.

Emotional intelligence is the ability to perceive, understand and manage how you use emotions effectively.

Many times individuals will think that the two are interchangeable; they are not. Knowing how mathematics works, would not help you deal with a difficult break-up or loss of a family member.

Learn to handle and control those emotions.

Another week has begun! People seem to focus on the negative aspects of

People seem to focus on the negative aspects of life:

-- Oh no, it's Monday!

-- If it weren't for bad luck, I'd have no luck.

-- Life sucks!

But why focus on the bad? There are 24 hours in a day, if five minutes are bad why don't we focus on the other 23 hours and 55 minutes?

As an individual, you have the ability to shift your focus. Being an artist, whether it was acting or writing, you learn to accept the bad reviews, people that just don't like you and your work, and people judging your every...

Living for the day Our days are numbered, there is no inifinity in our

Our days are numbered, there is no inifinity in our future. The thing to remember is that we must take advantage of the days that we do have.

Each brief and beautiful moment deserves some attention. Without that, we are wasting that finite number of days.

What will you do today to appreciate this time that you have? Will you call someone? Will you hug your children? Will you spend time with the love of your life? Will you visit a cemetery for a brief hello?

Just do something to make sense out...

Why I write Finding solace in my words and creations isn't easy. I am

Finding solace in my words and creations isn't easy. I am sensitive to the fact that in doing what you love, there are growing pains and anger to be released into the ether. So, I dig to find the things that help me to find joy. But in retrieving that joy, I release a lot of negativity-- I know and understand that.

But, my nightmares and anguish on the page have been felt by others. So, if one person finds help in living my stories, then writing them will be worthwhile.

Having been a soldier As an individual who spent time in the military, I

As an individual who spent time in the military, I find that a change from military to civilian life was a strange bit of time. In the military, you are told what to wear, when to wear it, and where to be at any given time.

Then, you are free, all of a sudden you can go on a vacation farther than 200 miles away without having to get permission. I can call in sick. I can rest on the weekend. My day isn't eighteen hours.

It's a complete switch. So, you are always a soldier even when the uniform...

We all have limits, right? When do we stop chasing dreams? There are so

There are so many things to do during a lifetime. Goals for us to reach, records to be broken, and legends to be made. But working as hard as you can, is it realistic to say that, "You can do anything you set your mind to doing?"

Well, you can find my opinion at my YouTube page with my latest video!

Of Days Gone By It's not a sad thing to grow old. I look back at my

It's not a sad thing to grow old. I look back at my experiences and I am lucky to have gotten here. Not all bad decisions end your life; although it may feel that way in the moment.

And things may seem good for a moment and then the moment slips on by you. That feeling that great things are at your fingertips, but it never quite comes together.

So I sit and ponder where I have been and where I may be going. The good and bad of it all; yet if we stop moving we've still made a choice.

Push ever...

Going Home The old addage of, you can't go back home has always interested

The old addage of, you can't go back home has always interested me.

I know that your experiences in life, once you've left home, really do change. The newness of life wears on you; you have gone more places and done more things than many other people from that same little town will ever do.

So, you can return to where you grew up, but it's not really home anymore. You've started, as the saying goes, hanging your hat elsewhere. You can go back, see family and friends, but home is somewhere else...

When Do We Get What We Deserve Our lives are meant to be grasped, lived,

Our lives are meant to be grasped, lived, and experienced. That experience, though, sometimes comes at a cost. We will lose friends, family, and associates to our choices.

Does that make us bad? Bad because we choose what is best for us?

No, we have earned the right to make the choices that are what is best for us. We will only ever get what we deserve if we make the choices that are best for us. No one knows what is best for us, more than we ourselves do.

There is no shame in doing the best...

Vulnerability Being open and willing to express your feelings is difficult;

Being open and willing to express your feelings is difficult; no matter your age and experiences being truly open is difficult. Relationships can fail under the strain of the lack of vulnerability. When your partner doesn't feel that they can't see or even know the real you... it can sometimes be the end of something that should have lasted.

The ideas that float about in my head deserve attention. Are they always the best things to share?

Maybe not. But there are things that need to be purged from the brain.

In time, maybe, I will empty the reservoir and things may slow.

I am only better each day because I am spilling ideas onto my keyboard.

Your Day Can Only Ever Be As Good As You Make It The worst thing one can do

The worst thing one can do is blame others for their misfortune. Why is it that when things are going well then we take full credit, but in failure there is blame to hand out to others?

It's a losing attitude to choose to give that power to anyone else. Take responsibility for each and every choice for each and every day. In doing so, we can find victory in any situation.

No matter the situation, we arrived there by our own choices. The important thing in life is to always make choices that move us toward the places that we want to be. If you make choices for the benefit of others you will almost always fail yourself.
