Is the ticking in my head? Is the clock about to expire?

How do you know that time is almost up if you're just moving along in life at your own pace and you never stop to look at the clock?

Somedays, I hear it in the distance. The tick-tock of the time that I have left here.

While I was living, somehow almost 54 years have gone past, and, now, I am starting to hear the tick-tock more often.

It becomes louder as the days pass. Yet, you just keep living for the next minute, the next hour, day,...

Integrity Our integrity being called into question would, typically, bother

Our integrity being called into question would, typically, bother us. Integrity is what we do when no one is looking.

We want to be a person that doesn't have to be watched at all times. We want trust.

If I'm beig honest... Many times in our lives we have to choose our words

Many times in our lives we have to choose our words wisely. Is it kinder, though, to just be honest and save the individual later issues or protect their feelings and just let someone else tell them the truth.

I find it unkind to let someone continue on a path that might really embarrass them in the long or short of their upcoming life. Tell people the truth when they ask for it. It's only right and fair, but you don't have to completely tear them down.

Just tell the truth. When you say the...

Steal Your Best Moments What things make you happy? Don't you wish you

What things make you happy? Don't you wish you could save those forever?

Lock those moments in a safe, and steal them away from the world and take them out when you need them. But is it really stealing?

Yes. Share the best of yourself with the world! Like the old saying goes, "Put your best foot forward."

Why I Write My head gets heavy from time to time, it feels like a million

My head gets heavy from time to time, it feels like a million voices trying to talk at the same time. What happens during those times is hard to describe. A solid idea begins to form, and suddenly my laptop is open and I am writing.

My stories all begin with one sentence. No, not the opening, but a sentence that has to be part of the story. It sometimes isn't the biggest or even main idea, but it has to be in there for my stories to be complete.

Why do you read?

Coming up, October 25th, I have been afforded the opportunity to go to Bundok Books in Puyallup WA. So, if you're in the area between 11:30 a.m. and 1:30 p.m. I would love to meet you all, talk about my book, and answer any questions you might have.

Some press forward in the world, trying to fit in, be invisible, and just muddle along-- unseen.

Then there are the one's that see themselves as outstanding in some way, it is they that seek the light of a stage-- seen.

In the meantime, there are the few that know when to disappear and then know when to shine-- wise.

When talent can carry you no further... There are times in life when we

There are times in life when we push forward as hard as we can, for as long as possible. Next comes the decision, will we ever get over the hump? Do we have what it takes to do what we first set out to do? Is it all a pipe dream?

Walking away from what has been your driving force, your wants, and all of your dreams when you finally admit, "This was never for me."

What is the artist's responsibility? As an artist of several mediums, I

As an artist of several mediums, I find that there is something that is consistent amongst each discipline.

Each medium challenges the artist to be true to themselves, true to their vision, true to why you want to be an artist. Artists should not change their work for popularity, sales, or to make others happy!

No, rather, the artist must find a way to present their works in a fashion that meets their vision in such a way that others can see the artist's true vision. A vision not watered down...

Everyday We Make Time for Our Wants Has a friend or family member ever

Has a friend or family member ever asked for help and you say, "Sorry, but I'm busy."?

Were you busy or just didn't feel that you wanted to make time?

The interesting thing is, we will find all the time in the world to do the things that we want and we will sacrifice our time with others that just don't make the cut in our day. Sadly, you won't always have those people around you to ask you for a piece of your time. So, choose your tasks wisely.

Success is Not a Linear Path This last morning, I was thinking about coming

This last morning, I was thinking about coming from not too much and being comfortable today. But it doesn't come easily. And at times it feels like stop and go traffic, with a few twists and turns.

Scorpions in our midst Anyone that has ever been around someone who is loud

Anyone that has ever been around someone who is loud knows that most of what is coming out of their mouths, besides hot air, are lies. Carefully crafted lies, but lies none the less. Like peacocks preening about, they have done more, seen more, and are better than anyone else in the room.

But they are typically the ones that fail to produce under pressure, or fight for the right things.

You'll see their stings are very bad at all.

What about us is eternal? The things we teach others is a tool that brings

The things we teach others is a tool that brings our personality, beliefs, and thoughts to others that come after us. If we are persuasive enough; maybe a big part of us moves on.

Why is that important? It's important because people tend to forget history. They think of doing things that were done before, or choose to support ideas that aren't for the best of all.

Push yourself to teach others to make a better world for themselves!

When you age into the person that says, "I remember when..." You look back and wonder if you did everything you could in life to succeed. Did you take the chances that lay before you? Did you out work the persons that wanted your position?

Or, do you complain? It was mine to take. I should have been promoted. This place just isn't for people like me.

What in us causes this visceral reaction?

In the end, the only thing you need is to know your potential; work to that measuring stick.

In the end,...

The Words That I Say When I speak, I must consider my thoughts and ideas

When I speak, I must consider my thoughts and ideas before I spill them out of my mouth. The things that people say can be sharp, biting, angry, loving, humorous, and so many other things.

I must consider the way my words will impact those that surround me. The people in my sphere.

In doing so, you may find that your sphere is much larger than you might think.

Being an Introvert in a Public World I love writing and performing. In

I love writing and performing. In performing, it's about the moments when you are someone else. Acting was an outlet for me, and being a character for those moments made me walk away from all of my problems, thoughts, and sorrows.

As a writer, the feeling is quite different. Allowing some of my darker and lighter stories flow onto my laptop and onto paper is like a cure to really bad headache. It takes weight off of my mind. My writings are not so much for the readers; rather, they help me...

Being an Artist From the time I was a child, I wanted to be an artist. I

From the time I was a child, I wanted to be an artist. I always felt more of a kinship with television, books, and art than I did with other people. Most of the time, I felt awkward in groups or in one on one conversations. I felt like I was trying to fit in, trying to be like others, dress like others, or wanting popularity.

The truth was, I was truly myself around one or two people in my life. The remainder of the time, it was all an act.

The artist was only art. The artist was never a real...

Decide Your Way The choice of moving forward in life is never easy, leaving

The choice of moving forward in life is never easy, leaving comfortable surroundings and the veritible small pond and jumping head first into the ocean can be terrifying. I walked away from everything that I knew when I had burned out and been hurt many years ago.

I wanted so much to be a "man of the world" but I was awkward and have never done well in crowds. I go over the top with bad jokes, bad language, and, extremely, bad decisions. So I walked away from what I knew, to do God's knows...

Moving Forward While Looking Back In life we have to continue moving

In life we have to continue moving forward; no matter what we may be enduring. Part of my mental health journey is acknowledging and using this in my everyday interactions.

But is it healthy to look back? To see my failures, sadness, anger, or my shortcomings?

I think that it's not just healthy, but necessary for growth. Willy Wonka said it best, "Oh you can't get out backwards, you have to go forwards to go back."

Never leave who you are, but don't be the you that failed you. (Think about it,...
